Uniquely Waterstone for our unique Waterstone clients
In this Issue:
- Emotion: Fear and Greed
- Earnings: US strength

- Alexa…Call 911!
- Project Hail Mary
How the stock market works: Short term, it's emotion and the flow of money. Long term: it's earnings. Share price follows earnings....eventually.
Emotions as measured by CNN.com’s Fear and Greed measure (7 technical indicators measuring investor actions)

Earnings as measured by the S&P: Considered by many economists and strategists as overvalued, overconcentrated but still supported growth, consumer spending, expenditures on R&D.

New consideration: Tariffs may change the sentiments and data worldwide. Policy change is happening quickly, dramatically and unexpectedly. We will likely see more volatility.
Hence, “Our investment partners navigate on our behalf.”
Spring review! Let us look at the big picture of success….going the distance with trusted professional partners. Come to the office as the weather warms, flowers bloom, birds sing ….and keep your eye on your big picture.

Hope! Daffodils bloom in Georgia!
We celebrate the March 6 100 th Birthday of our client and friend. It gives us ‘pause for thought’ about longevity. Social Security and her NYS teacher’s pension has been her financial core. Add savings and she is still healthy at home with aides.
If you live to 100, you probably need more money, NY Times 3/6/2021
Infotech and biotech are our futures. A long life means using your financial resources carefully to go the distance. It means pensions will be few to none. The financial forecast might realistically stretch to 100 and your three key financial planning questions will be: What do you want out of life? What gives you joy? How do you pay for it?
Plan for the best and prepare for the worst. The future will be fast, amazing and
complex!
Issues of Longevity: Unexpected! Frailty! Keep this resource in mind as you navigate a long life for yourself and your family. Locally we are lucky to have Aging Well Rochester with pioneer professional Marsha Raines and Associates. Nationally, we can find likeminded professionals at Aginglifecare.org. The Roth family contacted an Elder care case manager in the suburban Atlanta for help in addressing the complicated changes of Parkinson’s.

Cheers and thanks to AssetMark and strategists for their diligence in discussing the changing landscape. Waterstone has plenty of opportunity to read, hear, discuss news within the structures of economic and investment methodologies. The upcoming AssetMark Premier Advisor Meeting in Rochester is a two day event scheduled for March 19 and 20. They are keeping us calm to help you stay calm in a tumultuous environment.

Alexa to the Rescue! A client commented that she has Alexa in her kitchen, bedroom near the bathroom and basement. “Alexa! Call 911!” She felt this is more practical for all households than the wrist or necklace services. It’s always on. It’s not an ongoing expense. Test it out with a shout out!
Read! Read! A Clever Read for smart teens and beyond….

"Project Hail Mary is a suspenseful space yarn that zigs and zags — sometimes literally — in ingenious directions. Read it now. Pass it around. AND watch for the movie in March 2026!
Repeat after me…….
1. How the stock market works:
Short term: It’s emotion and the flow of money.
Long term: It’s earnings. Share price follows earnings…eventually.
2. The future will be fast, amazing and complex!
3. Our investment partners navigate on our behalf.
Note: Kathy will be back in the office April 1st to April15th. Josh is local, accessible and always appreciated.
